Current Worship Series

Many of our families are in a back to school season either with children packing lunches for elementary school, young adults headed to university, or educators preparing syllabi and classrooms. Even more folks see their "classrooms" as travel or reading, realizing that the more they know the more there is left to learn. The Christian life can also be thought of as an educational journey where God seeks to teach, shape, and form us into the beloved community. Join us for worship over the next four Sundays to consider what profound lessons God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and scripture have to teach.

MARCH Food Drive

MARCH is an umbrella group that assists seven community centers in the City of Richmond stock their food pantries. Grocery bags with a suggested list of non-perishable food items will be in barrels in the Welcome Center, Narthex and throughout the Church during the month of September. Filled grocery bags can be dropped off any time during the month of September; all donated food will be delivered to the Food Pantry at the Salvation Army, 2 West Grace Street, one of the MARCH distribution sites.

The 2015-16 school year is upon us, and soon the Micah Initiative will be in full gear. The Micah Initiative is a partnership program between faith communities in metropolitan Richmond and Richmond Public Schools. If you have not yet volunteered to help tutor children at Oak Grove Elementary School, now is the time! Contact Mary York (tmews.york@verizon.net; 754-0802), who is coordinating River Road’s Micah efforts.
