Our congregational story began in 1859 as Broad Street Methodist Episcopal Church, South, as a downtown church on 10th and Broad Street. Currently, the new Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is holding that place; we like to think of ourselves as standing in a long line of healing tradition in the city! The city government purchased the church property in 1961 and the church relocated and became River Road United Methodist Church. Since then we have lived into a hopeful present and a trusting future as God keeps us reaching out from this refueling station of worship and service!

Our Vision:

That the world might come to know the love of Christ through River Road United Methodist Church.

Our Mission:

To build a community committed to loving and serving God and neighbor.
